In any case, the G9/G10/G11 are indeed excellent point-n-shoots. Although I am a pro Nikon shooter, I always preferred the Canon point-n-shoots. I am a very satisfied owner of a Canon G10.

Re: TSB12: Michael Thompson from slinkygenius.com

I tried this technique today. I already had some Picasa storage and was only charged $30 at checkout. The only email I've received was the receipt for the $30 worth of storage I added. I'm hoping I don't need to order more to put myself over the $50 threshold.

Re: TSB12: Michael Thompson from slinkygenius.com

Another home run episode. I have learned a number of points; some I could use immediately and others which took a little work and study something I really enjoy doing. (Good blog so far and have the podcasts cued on my player.)

The problem is one of communication. The legal definition of "commercial use" is not what most people think. "Professional equipment" is exactly what? Selling a print is not commercial use, using the image to endorse camper gear is. Pros use Holgas as well as an SLR.

If your camera has an Auto setting and a pop-up flash then it can't be pro equipment can it? I have never seen (or heard) of a professional shooter using Auto and a pop-up flash for commercial work. If I use the same clubs as Tiger Woods am I a professional golfer?

Bit late to help you out but it is something to keep in mind. It is also easier to apologize than it is to ask permission.

Re: TSB12: Michael Thompson from slinkygenius.com

I have created a series of videos that explain my speedlight technique and gear that I use; the videos have inspired a lot of photographers and are not only funny but very informative. Not only was the content great but your interviewing skills are excellent. It is obvious that you thoroughly research and understand the questions you ask and therefore get the most out of the content.

I know you have to sleep but could we have a few more podcasts, sooner.

I would like to know why you decided to go with Light-room instead of Aperture and other than those programs data base capabilities would not Photoshop or Photoshop elements provide greater editing capability than either one?

Thanks

Re: Join us for the blogworld & New Media Expo Photowalk 2009

Look forward to meeting you. The interview with Andrew showed me that I was on the right path to getting my monitor calibrated and what I need to do with files before getting them professionally printed. I'm definitely going to try the print test that was mentioned. Bart also did a great job on his photo diaries segment. It's nice hearing from fellow Nikon D40 users. :-)
